The Princeton Prize in Race Relations

In order to recognize, support, and encourage the young people of our
country who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the cause of
positive race relations, Princeton University annually sponsors an
annual awards program for high school students—the Princeton Prize in
Race Relations. Applications postmarked by January 31 will be eligible
for prizes—including cash awards up to $1,000 for particularly
noteworthy work.

If you are a high school student involved in an activity that is
helping to improve race relations in your school or community, we want
to hear from you.
If you know of a high school student who is helping to improve race
relations, please encourage him or her to apply.

Bayer Scholars Program

The Bayer Scholars Program is a cooperative program between Duquesne University and the Bayer Corporation. Benefits of this program include: personalized course work, original research projects both at Duquesne and at the Bayer MaterialScience Pittsburgh Campus, funded summer research experiences at Duquesne, paid summer internships at Bayer, mentoring by both Duquesne science faculty and Bayer professionals, and significant tuition scholarship support.

Applicant must be African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, OR female, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and entering a chemical science program – as a freshman student – for the Fall 2010 semester.

2010-2011 Bayer Scholars Program Application

Admission to this program is competitive and will be awarded to four (4) Fall 2010 freshmen based on academic record, standardized test scores, and a one-page typed essay.

GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY Science & Engineering Apprenticeship program (summer) – This program places academically talented H.S. students (at least 16 yrs old, sophomores/ juniors) with interest in science & math in Dept. of Defense laboratories for an 8-wk period over the summer. This is an invaluable experience in the world of scientific research, with hands-on exposure to scientific & engineering practices not available in the HS environment. The Leadership Center at Morehousepan> College presents the 2009 Coca-Cola Pre-College Leadership Program.
